South Africa is a country located at the southern tip of the African continent. It is bordered by Namibia to the north, Botswana and Zimbabwe to the northeast, Mozambique and Swaziland to the east, and the Indian Ocean to the south and east.


The country has a wide variety of landscapes, from the arid desert Karoo to the snow-capped Drakensberg mountains to the lush KwaZulu-Natal coast. South Africa is also home to a wide variety of plant and animal life, including the African elephant, the Cape buffalo, and the lion.
